Hoboken New Jersey USA-1966: A Man Sitting At A Desk And Another Man Sitting On

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Suits a mid-1960s American domestic or biographical documentary needing an authentic home-office and living-room interior vignette from the New Jersey area.

Period detail

The flat-shade desk lamp, black suspenders, wooden filing desk with drawers, decorative globe, and patterned sheer curtains are consistent with mid-1960s American home-office decor.

Home-movie behavior

The camera holds behind the desk subject in an unstaged over-the-shoulder angle, suggesting a family member filmed candidly rather than staging a formal portrait.

What appears in frame

Wooden filing desk with drawers, flat-shade desk lamp, decorative globe, patterned sheer curtains, man in white shirt and black suspenders, framed desk photograph, mid-century upholstered armchair, table lamp on ornate side table.

Film character

The footage carries a bluish-violet color cast in the office scenes shifting to warmer amber in the living-room cut, with fine 8mm grain lending authentic mid-century archival texture.

Edit role

Works as an insert or memory beat in a period documentary; the desk scene reads as a quiet domestic portrait while the armchair scene cuts naturally as a two-person living-room setup.

Historical context

The globe, mid-century filing desk, and suspenders reflect 1960s American middle-class professional home life; the tidy domestic interiors suggest a working or professional family residence.

Research note

Two identifiable adult males appear; editorial use requires likeness review, and the private domestic interior may need a property release; no commercial brands or logos detected.
