Hoboken New Jersey USA-1966: Vintage Home Video Of Two Women Sitting On The

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

This clip suits documentary, educational, and commercial productions requiring authentic mid-1960s American domestic interiors and candid female portraiture.

Period detail

Mustard cardigan over orange knit top, structured dark hair, floral upholstery, and a teak-and-white console on tapered legs are consistent with circa 1966 American middle-class domestic furnishing.

Home-movie behavior

The camera operator lingers in close-up on a familiar face, an intimate and unguarded gaze typical of family filmmakers capturing a relative rather than a posed subject.

What appears in frame

Frames show a woman in a mustard cardigan and orange top on a floral couch, a tight profile close-up of her face, and a wider domestic scene with a second woman in dark clothing near a mid-century teak-and-white console topped with a framed male portrait and telephone.

Film character

Warm color saturation, fine grain consistent with 8mm reversal stock, and shallow depth of field in close-up shots convey the hand-held intimacy of family home-movie filmmaking from this era.

Edit role

Works as a memory-beat insert or period-establishing cutaway in documentaries about 1960s domestic life, women's social history, or mid-century American material culture.

Historical context

The mid-century console furniture, floral upholstery, and clothing palette reflect post-war American middle-class domestic taste in the early-to-mid 1960s; the framed male portrait on the console may suggest a commemorative or familial context.

Research note

Adult faces are clearly identifiable in close-up; likeness rights for the individuals depicted are unresolved and must be assessed before editorial use; private residential interior also requires property rights review.
