Hoboken New Jersey USA-1966: A Man Receives A Wallet For Christmas And Puts A Bill Inside

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Ideal for 1960s American domestic life or holiday segments in documentaries, editorial features, or social history productions needing authentic interior footage.

Period detail

A vintage cathode-ray television with blue-tinted screen and mid-1960s domestic furnishings are consistent with the stated 1966 date; the man's dark suit and tie reflect the era's dress norms.

Home-movie behavior

The unselfconscious intimacy of a man carefully slipping a bill into a gifted wallet captures a domestic ritual no staged production would recreate this naturally.

What appears in frame

Middle-aged man in dark suit and tie, upholstered armchair, leather wallet, decorated Christmas tree with colored ball ornaments, vintage cathode-ray TV with blue-tinted screen, draped curtains, gift boxes, and soda bottles near tree base.

Film character

Warm, slightly desaturated 8mm color stock with mild gate weave, soft focus at frame edges, and characteristic grain anchors this footage unmistakably in mid-1960s amateur filmmaking.

Edit role

Works as a memory-beat insert or reaction cutaway in a holiday segment; the final tree-only frame can serve as a clean transition to other domestic or seasonal material.

Historical context

The cathode-ray TV left on in the background may reflect mid-century American households keeping the set running during gatherings; slipping cash into a gifted wallet was a common domestic practice of the era.

Research note

An identifiable adult face appears throughout all frames; likeness rights cannot be assumed cleared, and the private residential interior requires editorial caution before commercial use.
