Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fills requests for mid-1960s formal dance or social occasion footage; suits documentary segments on American youth culture, event coverage, or 1960s nostalgia inserts.

Period detail

Dark red curtain backdrop, light blue full-skirted ball gown, and white formal jacket are consistent with mid-1960s American formal wear conventions.

Home-movie behavior

The couple poses for the camera in the opening moment before launching into the lift-and-twirl, suggesting a staged-for-the-camera performance at a private social event.

What appears in frame

Young woman in light blue ball gown, young man in white formal jacket, deep red curtain backdrop, couple embracing, overhead lift, swirling dress fabric, strong motion blur.

Film character

Warm 8mm color with soft grain and slight exposure shift renders the blue dress luminously against the burgundy curtain, characteristic of mid-1960s reversal film stock.

Edit role

Works as a memory-beat insert or period cutaway in sequences on 1960s formal occasions, young romance, or mid-century American social life.

Historical context

The full-skirted ball gown and white formal jacket reflect mid-1960s American formal fashion; the curtained backdrop suggests a banquet hall or event space typical of the era.
