Saint Louis Missouri USA-1965: Young Man And Woman Dancing Spinning In White Tuxedo

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Serves documentary and editorial requests for mid-1960s American social life, formal dance, or mid-century domestic celebration footage.

Period detail

White tuxedo jacket with dark bow tie, full-skirted light blue dress, and wall-mounted candelabra-style sconces are consistent with mid-1960s American formal dress.

Home-movie behavior

An amateur cameraperson tracked the dancers' full spinning lift, catching the motion blur and skirt flare that a staged production would have smoothed away.

What appears in frame

Young man in white tuxedo jacket with dark bow tie, young woman in flowing light blue dress, dark red curtain backdrop, wall-mounted light fixtures, dynamic skirt flare, and motion blur from spinning lift.

Film character

8mm color stock renders the scene with warm-tinted grain, soft edges, and motion blur that give the clip the unmistakable texture of mid-century amateur film.

Edit role

Works as a memory-beat insert or brief transitional cut in sequences about 1960s American social life, formal celebrations, or mid-century romance.

Historical context

White dinner-jacket formalwear and full-skirted dresses were common at mid-1960s American proms, wedding receptions, and social club events; the curtained backdrop suggests a private or semi-private formal venue.
