Family Enjoys Picnic In The Forest — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Ottawa, Canada, in 1967 captures a family enjoying a picnic in a wooded forest setting. The clip opens on a dark, dense forest with tall trees and green undergrowth, then transitions to a gravel clearing where three people—two men and a woman—sit at a wooden picnic table. The man on the left wears a light-colored shirt and a white hat, while the woman wears a yellow dress. They eat and drink from bottles and cups, with paper bags beside them. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color shifts, and slight camera movement, evoking authentic mid-1960s nostalgia. This archival footage is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Ottawa-area home-movie footage suited to editorial uses needing a quiet family picnic or wooded leisure moment.
Period detail: The clothing, paper bags, glass bottles, picnic table and 8mm color stock support a late-1960s family outing, with the year supplied by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal, unstaged behavior as three adults sit together eating and drinking at a forest picnic table.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include dense trees, green undergrowth, a gravel clearing, wooden picnic table, seated adults, paper bags, bottles and cups.
Film character: The clip has 8mm grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, color shifts and slight handheld movement typical of scanned home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief memory beat, family-leisure insert, picnic cutaway or transition from forest setting to human activity.
Historical context: The scene reflects everyday outdoor recreation and family dining in a wooded public or semi-public picnic area, without visible landmarks.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright status is separate from publicity clearance.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1967 Ottawa home movie picnic, 8mm family forest outing, vintage Canada picnic table and 1960s outdoor leisure footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel family outing footage, then Ottawa or 1967 Canadian material, then broader picnic, forest and home-movie leisure scenes.
