France-1967: Berghotel Mooserkreuz In Alpine Mountain Scenery

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Suitable for 1960s European alpine travel documentaries; works as an establishing exterior shot for productions covering mid-century mountain hospitality in Western Europe.

Period detail

Dark timber chalet construction, two-piece painted sign boards, and white-framed casement windows are consistent with mid-century alpine hotel architecture; no vehicles or other ephemera visible to independently confirm 1967.

Home-movie behavior

Shot from a fixed low angle by a visitor deliberately framing the hotel facade, suggesting a tourist's record of their accommodation rather than a staged promotional image.

What appears in frame

Dark timber upper storeys with multi-pane casement windows, painted sign boards reading 'BERGHOTEL MOOSERKREUZ', white stonework lower facade, arched ground-floor doorway, wooden balcony railings, flower boxes at base, and evergreen trees behind the roofline.

Film character

A strong purple-violet color shift across all frames is consistent with aged 8mm color stock; visible grain and slight frame-to-frame exposure variation give the footage an authentic archival texture.

Edit role

Works as an establishing exterior cutaway for a sequence on 1960s European mountain tourism; also usable as a memory-beat insert in personal or cultural travel history programmes.

Historical context

The hotel name and German-language signage are characteristic of German-speaking alpine regions; the clip is titled France 1967 but the naming convention is more typical of Austria or Switzerland — location warrants verification before editorial use.

Research note

The 'BERGHOTEL MOOSERKREUZ' signage is legible throughout and constitutes a named commercial business; verify current trademark status and whether editorial use requires clearance in the destination territory.
