Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This clip supports 1970s Boston harbor, leisure travel, and visitor-shot maritime cutaway needs for documentary, museum, educational, or editorial productions.
Period detail: The large sunglasses, color 8mm texture, harbor skyline, and white passenger ship are consistent with the supplied 1975 Boston metadata and mid-1970s amateur travel filming.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has unstaged home-movie value through a boat passenger smiling toward the camera while watching a large ship pass on the water.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white passenger ship, lifeboats, ship cranes, harbor water, distant city buildings, a boat interior edge, and a woman wearing oversized sunglasses.
Film character: The clip shows soft handheld 8mm color with visible grain, slight blur, rounded frame edges, and contact-sheet gate divisions that reinforce its physical home-movie origin.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a maritime insert, Boston harbor transition, 1970s travel cutaway, or personal memory beat between broader urban or vacation sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents recreational viewing from the water, with a passenger ship and waterfront skyline suggesting everyday harbor tourism rather than a staged public event.
Research note: A recognizable adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from copyright assessment, while no clear logos, minors, private interiors, or audible music are indicated.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1975 Boston harbor home movie, 8mm passenger ship on water, 1970s woman sunglasses boat, and vintage cruise ship passing city skyline.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with other 1975 Boston waterfront material, then with broader 1970s travel, boats, harbor, and passenger-ship themes.
