Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Midwest home-movie requests needing a quiet summer recreation insert with a person resting at the edge of a pond.
Period detail: The plaid sleeveless shirt, dark shorts, bare feet, and color 8mm look support a late-1950s casual leisure reading, with Dayton, Ohio supplied by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The subject appears unposed and relaxed, sitting close to the water while handling a stick and dipping their feet into the pond.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a seated person, plaid shirt, dark shorts, bare legs and feet, a long stick, rippling pond water, stone or concrete edging, and dark film borders.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm color, visible grain, uneven exposure, slight blur, and contact-frame borders that give it a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transition, or memory beat for warm-weather leisure, pondside play, or reflective family-reel sequences.
Historical context: The footage documents informal outdoor recreation in a domestic or local pond setting without enough visual evidence to identify the site beyond the supplied Dayton metadata.
Research note: A person is visible and likeness review may be needed; no logos or audible music are indicated, while copyright and any location permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1958 Dayton Ohio home movie pond, 8mm barefoot by water, 1950s summer recreation, and vintage family footage with stick at pond.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Dayton 1958 footage, then broader 1950s outdoor recreation or pondside family home movies.
