Boat On A Lake With Person Swimming Beside It — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Cuba in 1956, showing a small motorboat gliding across calm water, leaving a white wake. A person swims alongside the boat, creating splashes and ripples. The scene is captured from a high vantage point, possibly from a dock or another boat, with dark framing on the sides suggesting a window view. The film exhibits classic Super 8 grain, faded colors, and slight motion blur, evoking a nostalgic, personal memory of a summer day on the water.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Cuba home-movie requests needing brief water recreation footage, boat movement, or travel-memory inserts.
Period detail: The footage may show mid-1950s leisure travel, with small motorboat use, tiled waterfront decking, and period casual clothing visible in the contact frames.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged observation of a swimmer beside a boat and nearby waterfront visitors filmed from a personal vantage point.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include calm water, a small motorboat, white wake, a swimmer, dark film-edge framing, tiled decking, railings, and several adults.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, faded color, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, travel transition, waterfront insert, or memory beat within a Cuba or midcentury leisure sequence.
Historical context: The clip offers visual context for recreational waterfront activity in Cuba without identifying the specific lake, dock, people, or event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed in addition to separate copyright and property-status assessment.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1956 Cuba 8mm home movie, vintage boat swimmer footage, midcentury waterfront travel, and home-movie lake recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring shots from the same reel, then other Cuba 1956 waterfront material, then broader vintage boating and swimming scenes.
