Woman Relaxing On Patio In Retro 1970s Fashion — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie clip from 1973 capturing a woman in retro fashion relaxing on a patio in Central Coast California. She wears a white blouse, red pants, and distinctive white sunglasses, seated in a modern yellow wicker chair under a yellow and white umbrella. The scene features mid-century modern patio furniture, a concrete patio, and a grassy lawn in front of a house with large windows. A man in a plaid shirt walks through the frame, adding movement to the nostalgic, sun-drenched moment. The footage exhibits classic film grain and color saturation typical of 1970s home movies.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This clip supports requests for 1970s Central Coast California home-movie footage showing casual outdoor leisure, retro fashion, and domestic patio life for documentary, museum, education, or commercial context.
Period detail: Visible period clues include white oversized sunglasses, red trousers, green shoes, yellow woven patio chairs, a yellow-and-white umbrella, and saturated 8mm color consistent with early 1970s home-movie material.
Home-movie behavior: The woman sits casually in the sun while a man briefly crosses the frame, giving the clip an unstaged family-film quality rather than a directed portrait.
What appears in frame: The frames show a seated woman, white sunglasses, red pants, yellow patio chairs, a striped umbrella, concrete paving, lawn, large house windows, and a passing man in a plaid shirt.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, slight softness, strong sunlit contrast, warm color saturation, and minor handheld framing that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, cutaway, memory beat, or transition for 1970s leisure, home life, fashion, or California outdoor living.
Historical context: The scene reflects informal domestic recreation and style in a 1973 California setting without identifying the people, household, or exact property location.
Research note: Recognizable faces are visible, so likeness permissions may require review separately from copyright status, and the residential patio setting should be assessed for property or privacy concerns if used commercially.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1973 8mm California patio home movie, 1970s woman sunglasses red pants, retro outdoor furniture home footage, and Central Coast California family film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other 1973 Central Coast California outdoor home-movie material, then with broader 1970s leisure, fashion, and patio-life footage.
