White Peacock Displaying Fanned Tail Feathers — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Portugal in 1972 captures a stunning white peacock displaying its magnificent, fully fanned tail feathers in a lush garden setting. The bird stands on a stone path surrounded by green foliage, its iridescent white plumage glowing under natural light. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film characteristics with soft focus, subtle grain, and warm color tones typical of 1970s amateur recordings. The peacock's elaborate courtship display is the central focus, with its tail feathers creating a dramatic, fan-like silhouette against the dark background. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This 1972 Portugal 8mm home-movie clip helps solve archival requests for 1970s travel, garden, wildlife, or decorative bird footage for documentary inserts and educational cutaways.
Period detail: The soft amateur framing, 8mm texture, and garden setting support the supplied 1972 home-movie context, though the frames themselves show few date-specific visual clues beyond the period film look.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes the white peacock from a visitor or family-filmmaker distance as it turns and displays its tail, giving the footage an unstaged private-garden home-movie perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white peacock with fanned tail feathers, a stone path, dark shaded foreground edges, green shrubs, garden foliage, and intermittent close views of the feather fan.
Film character: The clip has a soft 8mm film character with visible grain, uneven exposure, dark frame edges, slight blur, and handheld amateur composition typical of scanned home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short nature cutaway, travel-memory insert, transition into a garden sequence, or visual beat for unusual animal behavior in archival material.
Historical context: The footage visually places an ornamental bird display within a garden or park-like setting in Portugal, reflecting leisure travel or home-movie observation rather than a documented public event.
Research note: Human presence is flagged in the clip metadata even though faces are not clear in these frames, so likeness review should be considered separately from copyright and any garden or property context.
Research search match: Relevant searches might include 1972 Portugal 8mm white peacock, vintage home movie peacock display, 1970s garden wildlife footage, and archival Super 8 ornamental bird.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Portugal 1972 travel or garden footage, and then broader 1970s animal, wildlife, or ornamental-bird home movies.
