Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: This clip supports archival requests for mid-1960s American home-movie dinner footage, especially documentary or educational sequences about domestic gatherings, family meals, smoking, and casual alcohol use.
Period detail: The 8mm color home-movie look, ruffled white blouse, party hat, tabletop bottles, and cigarette may show mid-1960s domestic social customs consistent with the supplied 1965 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged behavior of adults seated around a table, with one person adjusting her hair, another smoking, and guests appearing absorbed in conversation or party activity.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include seated adults, a white ruffled blouse, a cigarette, bottles and glasses on a dinner table, food remnants, a small party hat, curtains, and an interior dining or kitchen setting.
Film character: The footage has soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, handheld framing, color fading, and contact-print texture that read as physical 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, domestic cutaway, or transitional detail for family life, midcentury interiors, smoking, drinking, or informal celebration scenes.
Historical context: The scene visually documents a private American household gathering where cigarettes and alcohol appear integrated into a casual meal or party setting, without enough evidence to identify the occasion.
Research note: People and a private interior are visible, so copyright, likeness, privacy, and property considerations should be reviewed separately before reuse, especially for commercial or sensitive editorial contexts.
Research search match: Relevant researcher searches include 1965 8mm family dinner, Wellsburg Iowa home movie, 1960s smoking at dinner, vintage alcohol table scene, and private home gathering footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent material from the same reel, then with other Wellsburg or 1965 Iowa home movies, and then with related family dinner, domestic interior, smoking, alcohol, or party footage.
