Vintage 8mm home movie footage from Albany, New York, 1937, showing a group of men in swimsuits and winter clothing gathered on a wooden platform at a frozen lake. The grainy black-and-white film captures a winter swimming contest, with men preparing to enter the frigid water while others watch from the platform. Snow covers the ground and bare trees line the background, emphasizing the cold, wintry atmosphere. The handheld camera captures the event with natural motion and period-specific film grain, offering authentic archival footage of a unique public recreation.
