California USA-1961: A Woman and Dog on a Parade Float with Eye Bank Signage

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1961 California home-movie parade footage for productions needing a brief community-celebration insert with a decorated float, visible spectators, medical charity signage, and a woman standing beside a dog.

Period detail

Visible period clues include 8mm color film texture, mid-century parade float construction, floral trim, and hand-painted or printed civic signage that appears consistent with the supplied 1961 California metadata.

Home-movie behavior

The clip carries an unstaged spectator viewpoint, with the camera catching the float in passing and partially obscuring figures as it moves through the parade route.

What appears in frame

The frames show a purple-and-gold trimmed float, a woman in a white dress, a black dog, swan-like decorations, eye bank signage, and clusters of onlookers along the street.

Film character

The footage has pronounced 8mm grain, soft focus, saturated magenta and gold color shifts, uneven exposure, and handheld motion blur that place it clearly in a physical-film home-movie context.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for mid-century civic parades, volunteer organizations, public health fundraising, or small-town California celebrations.

Historical context

The visible signage suggests a community or charity parade float connected to an eye bank, but the exact organization, parade name, and event context should be verified before making specific claims.

Research note

People, faces, a dog, and readable organizational signage are visible, so likeness, trademark or organization identification, and medical-charity context should be reviewed separately from copyright status.
