People Walking In A Parade Carrying A Kentucky Lions Banner — Clip Details

Vintage 8mm footage from 1961 in California shows a parade with participants carrying a large white banner reading "KENTUCKY DIST. 4.3 LIONS" in bold black letters. The banner is held by marchers in dark uniforms walking down a paved street marked with yellow double lines and white crosswalks. The grainy, slightly blurred image captures the nostalgic feel of a mid-century community celebration, with a crowd visible in the background. The low-angle shot emphasizes the banner and the steady movement of the procession, evoking a sense of civic pride and Americana.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm parade footage suited for documentary or educational edits needing a brief civic procession shot with a Kentucky Lions banner in California.
Period detail: The large cloth banner, marching formation, street markings, and grainy 8mm color look support a mid-century community parade setting, with 1961 and California supplied by clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has the value of a spectator-shot home movie, staying low and close as marchers carry the banner past a crowd-lined street.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white Kentucky District 4.3 Lions banner, dark-uniformed marchers, legs and shoes beneath the cloth, a paved road with double yellow lines, white crosswalk markings, and spectators in the background.
Film character: The scan shows soft focus, visible grain, muted color, gate weave, and slight handheld framing that read as authentic 8mm physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or civic-memory cutaway within a sequence about parades, service clubs, regional representation, or mid-century public celebrations.
Historical context: The clip visually documents organized civic participation in a parade, with the Kentucky District 4.3 Lions banner suggesting a service-club delegation without confirming the specific event.
Research note: People and a Lions organization banner are visible, so copyright, trademark or logo use, and possible likeness considerations should be reviewed separately from the underlying footage license.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1961 California 8mm parade, Kentucky Lions banner procession, Lions club district parade footage, mid-century civic parade home movie, and service club marching banner.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1961 California parade footage, and then broader 1960s civic procession or marching-band material.
